2010 Conference Chair Welcome Letter

Dear Colleague:

It is my pleasure to welcome you to the 2010 Association for Student Conduct Administration Annual Conference. The conference theme, Our History Informs Us, Our Vision Moves Us, Connecting the Traditional Way in a New Day, represents both our association’s new name, as well as a change to our new location in St. Petersburg Beach Florida. The annual conference will be at the beautiful Tradewinds Resort from February 3rd to February 7th, 2010.

It seems you can’t turn on a radio, television, or your computer and not hear about the state of our economy. Many of our colleagues have reported budget cuts and less access to professional development and travel. ASCA will prove to be an affordable and wise investment for your financial resources. The Tradewinds resort accommodations include kitchenettes in every room as well as family-friendly activities around the resort. In addition, you will find grocery stores, restaurants, and convenience stores within walking distance of the Tradewinds Resort. It is our hope that these amenities will allow you to travel in February for the conference.

As in our previous conferences, you can expect the opportunities to network with a diversity of colleagues from a variety of institutions. The conference registration includes events such as a Welcome Reception, social events, Circuit Meetings, Member Interest Group discussions, and dozens of speakers, presentations, and educational sessions. In addition, quality pre-conference sessions as well as our Senior Student Affairs track will be offered as well.

Join us as we look forward to A New Day, a new name, and a new location. It is my hope that this message reaches you in good health and spirits, and that I will see you in February in St. Pete’s Beach.

My Very Best,
Brent E. Ericson
