Abstract: Portions of this encore presentation were offered as part of a full-day workshop at this summer’s Gehring Academy to a full capacity audience. This half-day preconference session is offered at this year’s conference to contribute to ASCA’s mission to facilitate best practices of conflict resolution on college and university campuses. This is a workshop for colleagues wishing to more fully investigate the implementation of conflict resolution pathways using a social and restorative justice framework to enhance student conduct programs. This program will provide a deep dive into specific practices and strategies that inform administration of the Schrage & Thompson Spectrum of Resolution Options Model (2008) developed at the University of Michigan and featured in Reframing Campus Conflict: Student Conduct Practice through a Social Justice Lens (Stylus, 2009).   Topics such as resources, staffing, training and legal and ethical issues will be covered.

5)         All-Day Pre-Conference Session on Academic Integrity

Abstract: The Association for Student Conduct Administration (ASCA) and the ASCA Academic Integrity Member Interest Council is pleased to sponsor a full-day preconference session focused on academic integrity issues prior to the 2011 ASCA Annual Conference. While the day’s sessions have been specifically designed to cover pertinent topics facing student conduct practitioners administering academic integrity programs, faculty members and colleagues from academic affairs are invited to attend as well. The day has been divided into two parts with the morning sessions covering global topics that impact all parties involved in the administration of academic integrity and the afternoon offering attendees the ability to select individual sessions on topics germane to her/his particular institution. No matter one’s involvement in academic integrity administration or her/his institutional affiliation, this full-day preconference offers practical guidance on some of the most challenging topics facilitated by some of the most respected names in the field.
