Circuit 1 - Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island

Welcome to ASCA Circuit 1!

Hello Circuit 1 Members:

My name is Bohdan J. Zaryckyj, please call me Bo. I will be the Circuit I Representative this year. This is an opportunity I am very excited for. I have been a member of ASCA since February 2007. I have worked in student affairs for the last 6 years at several different institutions. Currently, I am the Coordinator of Alcohol and Other Drug Education and Community Standards at Springfield College. I have served Circuit I in several different capacities. I was on the 2008 Circuit I Fall Drive In Committee and I co-chaired the 2009 ASCA portion of the New Professionals Workshop.

If you have any questions and/or suggestions about Circuit I or ASCA please do not hesitate to contact me at bzaryckyj@spfldcol.edu.

The Circuit 1 Drive-in is an opportunity geared toward professional staff and student board members to gain knowledge and skills that compliment trainings offered at your host institutions. As we celebrate our 16th annual drive-in, we are excited to be offering a program that will help us to define what matters in the work that we do.

This conference will provide separate and specific program tracks for both student board members and professionals in the field to maximize learning.

Participants will be provided with breakfast and lunch as well as a closing session to wrap up the conference experience.

We hope that you and your board members will join Circuit 1 at the drive-in on November 18th, 2011.

We are also excited to announce that Circuit 1 will be participating in the Circuit Challenge! Please see information below on how to help Circuit 1 succeed in supporting the Raymond H. Goldstone Foundation.

Raymond H. Goldstone Foundation - Circuit 1 Challenge!

In 2008 the Raymond H Goldstone Foundation was created to support ASCA. The foundation's goals are to raise money to support ASCA in its education, scholarship and leadership initiatives.  The Association provides scholarships for professionals and graduate students to attend the National Annual Conference, the Gehring Academy and funds speakers and programs.

The foundation is named after founding member Raymond H. Goldstone, the person who donated the startup funds for ASCA when it was founded at the Law and Higher Education Conference in Clearwater Beach Florida in 1987.

As of 2011 the foundation has raised $89K with the goal of reaching $100K by the start of the 2012 conference. Each Circuit has been challenged to raise $1000 and Circuit I has embraced the challenge.
At the fall drive-in conference, participants can support the foundation by purchasing felt stickers at $5.00 each or making a donation directly to the Association (forms attached to this page). Be sure to write that you are a member of Circuit I on the donation form.

Please continue to look for additional ways to help Circuit 1 meet their $1000 challenge!
