August 19, 2010 Ways to Manage Hazing so Hazing Doesn't Manage You....
This 90 minute webinar will be hosted by ASCA and URMIA. With enhanced awareness, risk management programs, increased statutory and regulatory oversight and criminal ramifications incident involving hazing still abound at institutions of higher education. September 8, 2010 Mental Health on Campus: Counseling and Judicial Affairs Partnerships
This 90 minute webinar is designed to give student conduct affairs staff an overview of recent trends in mental health as they impact college campuses. We will discuss the importance of judicial affairs and counseling working together to improve service delivery to students. Even the terms "counselor" and "counseling" have taken on many meanings and roles in areas that muddy the water in dealing with student's information. This webinar will help those professionals answer the questions that arise when FERPA, HIPPA, licensure requirements and potential personal, professional, and institutional liability seem to be in conflict. The webinar will be hosted by ASCA and NASPA. In today's college environment ,the terms "counselor" and "counseling" have taken on many meanings and roles in areas that muddy the water in dealing with student's information. This webinar will help those professionals answer the questions that arise when FERPA, HIPPA, licensure requirements and potential personal, professional, and institutional liability seem to be in conflict. The webinar will discuss the liability for licensed counselors who are no longer filling a staff position as a counselor. They could now be in a position as an advisor, a member of faculty, a student conduct professional, etc. What is their liability in this role as a counselor?
