Event Description

The Training Institute offers an intensive four-day competency based curriculum intended for student conduct and conflict resolution administrators new to the field as well as seasoned student affairs professionals new to the area of student conduct and conflict resolution. Participants will thoroughly explore critical topics each day including model policies and due process, laws and mandates, governance, forms of adjudication, case preparation, information management, student development theory, and personal/professional ethics.

Payments

Payment for the Academy must be received by June 1, 2010.  Any questions regarding payment can be directed to the ASCA Central Office staff at (979) 845-5262.  We will work with you if there are concerns about making payment by this date.

Refund Policy
All cancellations and requests for refunds MUST be submitted in writing by June 1, 2010.  Telephone requests WILL NOT be honored.  An email to asca@tamu.edu should be received no later than midnight June 1, 2010 to receive a full refund of the registration fee (less an administrative fee of $25.00).
 
Refund requests received after June 1, 2010 , but prior to 14 days from the start of the Academy (June 6, 2010) will receive a 50% refund.  Requests for refunds received after the deadline will not be considered and participants are encouraged to send a substitute in their place if they must cancel their attendance.  Refunds will be sent within four to six weeks after the Academy has concluded.

Conflict Resolution (One-Day Program) $110.00

Description: Colleagues wishing to more fully investigate the implementation of conflict resolution pathways using a social and restorative justice framework to enhance student conduct programs are encouraged to extend their Academy stay to participate in Advanced Topics in Conflict Resolution. This NEW, advanced one-day program will provide the much requested deep dive into practices and theories conceptualized in the Schrage & Thompson Spectrum of Resolution Options Model (2008) featured in Reframing Campus Conflict: Student Conduct Practice through a Social Justice Lens (Stylus, 2009). Participants from across the Gehring Academy Programs are invited to attend.
