Insights into ASCA 2012: Do What Matters

In the true spirit of doing what matters most to our members, we are adjusting the conference schedule and offerings to reflect the feedback received from prior years’ evaluations. The usual popular sessions and activities will still occur:

-case law review
-legislative updates
-opening keynote & reception
-closing banquet & social
-volleyball
-circuit meetings

In addition, we are making some changes and additions. The first most notable change is the addition of a 4th featured speaker session. In addition to case law review and legislative updates, we will also offer featured sessions on threat assessment and Title IX/DCL. The second change relates to the schedule  - case law review has been moved to Saturday afternoon, and volleyball will begin on Thursday night. These changes promote relationships and conversations among our membership, which has been noted as one of the most important values of the conference experience.

Other changes include:
-changing the schedule to include roundtables on Friday evening
-moving the MIC meetings to breakfast
-adding onsite social activities
-being intentional about the programs offered for community colleges, mid-level professionals, and other audiences
-providing social opportunities, including a sandcastle building contest for those who may prefer an alternative to volleyball

We look forward to seeing you at Conference!
