Law & Policy Report

The ASCA Law & Policy Report (LPR) is edited by Gary Pavela. The LPR will provide short concise commentary regarding law and policy issues related to student discipline and student development. Having started in January of 2001, members receive this email weekly.

The articles are short and direct and many provide direct links to pertinent sources. Some LPR articles relate to legal issues; some contain practical advice; others provide broader philosophical perspectives, designed to help campus judicial officers and other student development professionals collaborate effectively with faculty colleagues.

A key feature of LPR articles is the comprehensive indexing system, linked to the ASCA website and accessible only to ASCA Members. Each LPR article will be identified by topic, and given a number correlated with the year. The general topic categories will follow the same 'Topical Index' used in the editor’s other publication, Synfax Weekly Report. The on-line archives are accessible in the members login section of the web.
