In June 2016, the U.S. Department of Education published a revised Handbook for Campus Safety and Security Reporting to address changes to the Clery Act, as amended by the VAWA Final Regulations. However, many of the changes had nothing to do with VAWA and instead provided new and substantive guidance that affected other areas, including classification and counting of crimes and Clery Geography. These changes have important implications for student conduct administrators. This session will address pertinent changes and share additional insights obtained from the Campus Safety and Security Help Desk regarding Clery compliance issues related to student conduct.
