Goldstone Foundation History
Before the annual conference in 2008 the ASCA Board of Directors (then known as ASJA) created a Foundation Board to raise money to support the organization's educational, scholarship and leadership initiatives. President-Elect Gary Dickstein asked Donald D. Gehring to chair the Foundation Board consisting of Saunie Schuster, Mary Beth Mackin, Judy Rashid, Lee Bird, Dave Parrott, Bill Fischer (ex-officio) and ASCA Executive Director, Billye Potts (ex-officio). The Foundation Board subsequently recommended to the then ASJA Board of Directors additional members whose financial commitment to the Foundation warranted their inclusion. The ASJA Board approved the nominations and added Barbara Fienman, Larry Bolles, Ed Stoner and Howard Bailey to the Foundation Board.
The foundation is named after longtime ASCA member Raymond H. Goldstone. Mr. Goldstone donated the startup funds for the Association for Student Judicial Affairs (now known as Association for Student Conduct Administration)..
The purpose of the Raymond H. Goldstone ASCA Foundation is exclusively charitable. Donations to the foundation help provide scholarships and opportunities for professionals and graduate students to receive high-quality training at ASCA programs i.e. the Gehring Academy, ASCA Annual Conference along with funds for major keynote speakers and activities.
