Vicarious Trauma Training

The purpose of this 2.5/3-hour workshop is to provide higher education professionals with basic information and skills to effectively identify and process vicarious trauma. The training is engaging, interactive, and provides participants with a 50-page guidebook. The guidebook includes assessment tools that can be utilized for continued staff and student development.
The featured speaker for this event is Jill Bassett, Assistant Dean of Student Affairs and Retention at Franklin Pierce University. With a Bachelor of Arts in English and Master of Arts in Women’s Studies from Southern Connecticut State University, Jill has been working in higher education for over 15 years. As the Assistant Dean of Student Affairs and Retention at FPU, she oversees all student conduct as well as guides Title IX education. She has been the Vice President of the New Hampshire Violence Against Women Campus Consortium, is currently a member of the Cheshire Country Sexual Assault Responds Team (SART) and developed the FPU SART. She is currently in the Ed.D Higher Education program at New England College (graduating in May) and researched Vicarious Trauma in Higher Education for Those Engaged with Sexual Misconduct (Title IX) Cases. Jill also serves on the NASPA Region 1 Board, is an active advocate for the LGBTQ community as a SafeZones Trainor and a Sexual Assault Crisis Counselor.
