The PPLI Committee is currently tracking a plethora of proposed federal and state legislation, court case decisions, and executive orders. The goal of this webinar is to provide an overview of what is occurring across the country to bring knowledge and awareness to the membership.

Josh Cutchens serves as the current Chair of the ASCA Public Policy Legislative Issues Committee.  Josh has served in a variety of leadership roles within ASCA, such as the South Region Chair, State Coordinator for Florida, and Chair of the Assessment Community of Practice.  Josh serves as the Associate Director in the Office of Student Conduct at Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina.

Brian Glick serves as a Director-at-Large on the 2021-2022 ASCA Board of Directors and is the liaison to the ASCA Public Policy Legislative Issues Committee. Glick has actively served on this committee for the past 16 years, as tracking legislation is a hobby. Glick is the Director of Student Conduct at Adelphi University, in Garden City, New York.

Christine Nye is the Assistant Director for the Office of Student Conduct and Off-Campus Services at the College of New Jersey.  She has fifteen years of experience in student disciplinary interventions starting in residential life and finally moving over full-time to student conduct in 2018.  She has an interest in public policy and law related to how it interacts with and impacts the field of student conduct processes in higher education.

Tom Hardiman joined the Office of Student Conduct at North Carolina State University in 2017 after serving as the Associate Director in the Office of Student Conduct at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Tom received his Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education and History with a minor in Leadership Studies from the University of Rhode Island, as well as a Master’s of Arts in Counseling in Higher Education from the University of Delaware. Prior to working in student conduct, Tom served in various roles within Residence Life, Orientation, Admissions, Outdoor Adventure, and Counseling. Tom’s professional interests include assessment, new professional development, and crisis management.
