In August 2020, new Title IX regulations went into effect. As professionals were still trying to navigating student and organizational conduct during a pandemic, they now had a few short weeks to prepare for new parameters on how Title IX incidents would be managed on-campus. Needless to say this left questions for many, especially for fraternity/sorority professionals who were "living in the gray" when it came to have fraternity/sorority facilitates and events were defined in the new regulations. This session will present a primer on Title IX of the Education Amendment of 1972, with a focus on what it is, how we got here, and an overview of the 2020 regulations. Attendees will leave with a better understanding of how August 2020 Title IX regulations will impact their work in supporting the fraternity/sorority community on their campus.
This program is hosted in educational partnership with the Association of Fraternity/Sorority Advisors, Association for Student Conduct Administration, and Fraternity Executives Association.
