Associate Director, Student Conduct

The Office of Student Conduct is responsible for managing all aspects of the University’s conduct process. Staff members work collaboratively with campus and local partners to gather information and resolve allegations of misconduct, both academic and non-academic in nature.

  • Serve as hearing officer for conduct cases
  • Serve as the Case Manager and University Representative for Title IX cases.
  • Serve as the Office’s primary representative on the University’s Sexual Assault Response Team (SART)
  • Review submitted case referrals daily
  • Update UNC suspension/expulsion database
  • Coordinate updates to policy and procedure
  • Act as Clery compliance officer for the Office of Student Conduct
  • Assist the Director in leading the Office’s Assessment initiatives
  • Facilitate educational programs
  • Manage Maxient conduct database
  • Facilitate conduct training for new University Police officers

Minimum Education and Experience
Earned Master’s degree in student affairs type fields such as: Counseling Psychology, Higher Education Administration, Counselor Education, Social Work, or equivalent educational programs.

Other Required Qualifications
  • Review and maintenance of confidential documents
  • Ethical decision-making skills
  • Working knowledge of FERPA legislation
  • Ability to collaborate with other University departments
  • Clear and effective communications skills, both verbally and in writing
  • The ability to present to student groups on conduct related topics
Preferred Qualifications
  • Use of Maxient conduct database
  • Working knowledge of Title IX in a conduct arena
  • Working knowledge of assessment practices in higher education
