Report to a Dean or Associate Dean. Responsible for the academic programs under his or her management and direction, which may include the areas of program review, planning, or research. Supervises areas of responsibility to ensure that the goals and objectives are communicated and met; provides leadership and policy direction. Compiles information and reports necessary for planning, directing, and reporting academic program activity; develops and implements procedures to ensure the efficient operation of the academic programs. Engages in other activities and projects as assigned. May represent the program to which he or she supervises, on system wide or state committees. Attends meetings and conferences. Performs related duties as required or deemed appropriate to the accomplishment of the responsibilities and functions of his or her academic program area(s). Master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and seven years of appropriate experience; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and nine years of appropriate experience.

Essential:

  • The Assistant Dean/Director for Student Conduct and Conflict Resolution is an employee of the Division of Student Affairs who reports directly to the Dean of Students and leads the management of all functions of the Office of Student Conduct and Conflict Resolution.
  • Oversees in the administration and interpretation of rules, policies, and procedures relevant to student conduct matters. Manages annual and bi-annual reporting related to Divisional Key Performance Indicators, Drug-Free Act Report, Public Record Requests, and additional reports, as needed. 
  • Develops and manages an on-going assessment model to produce information on student conduct and behavioral trends for purposes of planning and provide periodic statistical reports annually. Oversees the maintenance and updating of the Maxient database system and the processing of student conduct cases. Serves as a student conduct administrator to investigate and adjudicate alleged infractions of the Student Code of Conduct. Develops, supervises and implements conduct training and presentations related to the student conduct process. Oversees the marketing, recruiting, selection, training, and ongoing development of the Student Conduct Board members, University Hearing Officers and advisors.
  • Coordinates the development, review, and revision of all rules, regulations, and procedures relating to student conduct, including Housing regulations (community standards). Serve as a member of the Student Crisis Awareness Committee and Student Intervention Team in responding to student crisis situations and students of interest/concerns. 
  • Acts at the direct liaison to the university police department, Boca Raton Community Liaison Officer and various campus departments in matters related to student conduct and campus safety.
  • Represents the department on various divisional, university, state, regional and national committees. Assists in the preparation and administration of the annual operating budget.
  • Serves as a Deputy Coordinator for Title IX concerns and assists with the creation of the annual Clery report and bi-annual Drug-free Schools Act report.
  • Functions as the Dean of Students in their absence.
