Standing Committees serve to fulfill a specific, on-going role of the goals of the Association, through a designated charge. Based on the scope and role of the committee, several committees are appointed by the ASCA President or designee. ASCA has six standing committees.

The Annual Conference committee is charged with planning the ASCA conference held each January/February. Members of the committee are selected through an application that is opened after the conference. Participation in this committee requires a year-long commitment, which includes regular conference calls and attendance at an in-person planning meeting.

The charge of the Archive committee is to coordinate and carry out the archive functions of the Association. The committee will coordinate with the relevant entities of the Association to capture all relevant historical events of the association.

The Awards Committee solicits recommendations for and determines individual recipients for all ASCA awards established by a majority vote of the Board of Directors.
The Research Committee has authority over the solicitation of nominations for, and determining the winner of, the Dissertation of the Year Award. Likewise, Honorary Memberships are determined by a vote of the Board of Directors.

ASCA aspires to be the thought leader within the student conduct community and the Content Advisory Committee’s goals are to support the Association by creating and cultivating resources and content to those working in behavior-influencing fields.
The Content Advisory Committee will achieve this charge by leading the following initiatives:
Content Delivery:
- ASCA Blog: The publication of a twice monthly blog post. The ASCA Blog will provide the ASCA membership with short, engaging, written content. Members will be able to learn about a variety of topics affecting the profession and integrate the concepts into their work. Submit a Blog Proposal!
- Reflections Educational Magazine: The publication of a biannual magazine that will provide the ASCA membership with longer form written content that integrates research and practice into a variety of topics and themes affecting the student conduct profession.
- The Viewpoints Podcast: The regular distribution of a podcast that provides the ASCA membership with information through interviews, discussions, and other content in an audio format.
- Journal of the Association of Student Conduct Administration: The publication of an annual scholarly journal as “The premier authority in higher education for student conduct administration and conflict resolution.”
Content Advisory and Development:
- Content Advisory: The committee will serve in an advisory capacity to the Board of Directors by receiving proposals from the membership related to creative content and reviewing and investigating those proposals that warrant additional consideration.
- ASCA Positions Statements: The Content Advisory Committee will be responsible for the upkeep and development of new position statements. This publication represents ASCA’s official stance, beliefs, and perspective as it relates to student conduct-related topics.
- Content Development: The committee will lead the Association in providing ASCA-branded content to the membership and beyond. It will aspire to become the student conduct thought leaders within the student affairs community.

The Equity and Inclusion Committee actively facilitates the professional development mission of ASCA, and seeks to expand recruitment, orientation, and retention of under-represented populations. The Committee works with the ASCA leadership to facilitate a welcoming educational community that supports diversity research and applications that benefit the ASCA organization.
Charge: To further implement the Diversity Strategic Plan and continue to help the board identify key strategic areas to continue to diversify the Association.

The Membership Committee communicates with new and prospective members regarding benefits and services of ASCA and follows up with inactive members to improve retention. The Membership Committee collaborates with the Central Office, Research Committee, and Diversity Committee to survey the membership of the Association to determine current needs and desires.

The Association for Student Conduct Administration Membership Committee is pleased to announce the launching of a mentorship program. Through this program, ALL association members have the opportunity to participate as mentors and/or mentees. The Membership Committee will provide many opportunities for mentor/mentee interaction throughout the calendar year. It is not necessary for participants to attend the annual conference to participate in the mentor/mentee program. Some of the opportunities for mentors and mentees to be involved in activities together include:
- Attendance at the annual conference
- Participation in conference calls
- Participation in webinars
- Monthly topics for possible discussion
The Public Policy & Legislative IssuesCommittee identifies state and federal legislation affecting the administration of student conduct and to periodically notify the membership of issues through appropriate Association publications.
