ASCA Offers Free Student Memberships
As of July 1, 2026, ASCA enacted free student memberships for full time Master's and Undergraduate students. The elimination of membership dues represents a commitment to the growth and development of the student conduct profession by providing students early in their professional careers an opportunity to learn more about the field of student conduct administration through both theoretical and practical applications. This is also in line with our Association’s values around accessibility and access.
Graduate students are an essential part of the ASCA membership. With opportunities to connect and build their networks, while strengthening their knowledge through many professional growth opportunities, graduate students are invited to take an active role in their membership. This page is designed to share only some of the opportunities available to Graduate Student Members. ASCA Funded Graduate Internships
ASCA is committed to fostering graduate student involvement across ASCA operations. The internships below each come with some level of funding and/or conference travel support.
Bracewell Conference Graduate Internships (2) - APPLICATIONS OPEN!
ASCA is accepting Bracewell Internships for the 2027 ASCA Annual Conference. The application is open now and can be found here!
The Bracewell Conference Graduate Internships were developed to foster leadership opportunities within ASCA, specifically through involvement in our Annual Conference. Graduate Interns will have opportunities to observe and interact with ASCA leadership and to experience the Association’s inner workings through involvement with the Conference Planning Team. Bracewell Conference Interns have travel, hotel, registration, and most meal costs covered for the full Annual Conference.
For full consideration, all application materials must be submitted by 11:59 PM PT on Sunday, September 13, 2026. Interviews will be conducted September 21-25. ASCA Central Office Internship (1)
ASCA is excited to host a Central Office Graduate Intern for Fall 2026! This fully remote, semester-long educational opportunity is designed for a graduate student interested in higher education, student affairs, or association management.
The ASCA Central Office Intern will work approximately five hours per week alongside ASCA's Director of Member Experience & Operations and Central Office team, gaining hands-on experience with member recruitment, engagement, retention, communications, and Association operations.
The selected intern will receive a $500 stipend and may also have the opportunity to attend the 2027 ASCA Annual Conference with partial funding as a professional development benefit.

ASCA Archives Intern (1)
ASCA will celebrate its 40th Anniversary starting in 2028. To help ASCA begin preparations, ASCA seeks an ASCA Archives Intern. The Archives Intern must be able to regularly visit the National Student Affairs Archives hosted at Bowling Green State University.
During the Fall 2026 Semester, the Archive Intern will be expected to engage in the detailed review and cataloging of the ASCA Archives, identifying items which might be used to best support the 40th Anniversary celebrations. Due to the timing and geographic requirements of this internship, preference will be given to graduate students at or near Bowling Green State University. The Fall 2026 stipend is $500 with the possibility of extending to additional semesters and funding to attend the 2028 Annual Conference. ASCA Presidential Interns (2)
The ASCA President has the opportunity to appoint up to two Presidential Interns during their presidential year. Presidential Internals work on a focused project, developed in collaboration with the ASCA President. Examples of past projects include mapping ASCA Knowledge & Skills to NACE Competencies and CAS Standards; researching restorative practices in student conduct; and member engagement research. ASCA Presidential interns are also invited to attend ASCA Board Meetings, providing an uncommon professional experience for graduate students, and receive funding to attend the ASCA Annual Conference.

ASCA Annual Conference
The ASCA Annual Conference occurs each year in February. The 2027 Annual Conference will be held from February 10 - 13, 2027 in the metro Washington, DC area at the Crystal City Gateway Marriott. Graduate student registration rates are available to foster meaningful student participation at the Conference. Please also see the Scholarships tab for information about when Conference Scholarship opportunities are available.
Professional Development Track
In addition to concurrent sessions focused on the various aspects of student conduct administration, the ASCA Annual Conference includes a defined Professional Development Track to support graduate students and new professionals.
Poster Presentations at ASCA Annual Conference
ASCA is pleased to announce the addition of a Poster Session during the 2027 ASCA Annual Conference. This opportunity allows members, including graduate students, to showcase their research or scholarship about student conduct. The Student Poster Application cycle has an extended deadline noted below.
- Completed research and research in progress proposals are both welcome
- Complete proposal form by September 30, 2026
- Poster Session: Thursday, February 11, 2027 from 10:30 - 11:00 am
- Posters will be available for viewing all day, but you are not required to be present outside of 10:30 - 11 am

Fall Virtual Case Study Competition
ASCA is hosting its first Graduate Student Virtual Case Study Competition! In honor of October’s Careers in Student Affairs month, we are inviting teams of students to engage with experienced judges and compete for a prize ($200 cash or $250 ASCA event credit for each team member). Participant applications will be out in September–watch for Association Updates newsletter and social media! You can choose your partner or have one assigned to you (as available). The competition dates are scheduled for the week of October 19th.

Graduate Student Community of Practice
The Graduate Student Community of Practice was established to provide resources and information to graduate students currently working in Student Conduct and/or are interested in pursuing a career in Student Conduct or a related field. Members are able to share and gain knowledge and skills through informal and formal means to develop professionally.
This CoP seeks to help graduate students feel comfortable in ASCA and learn ways to become involved in the Association. This CoP also serves as a network for individuals to help and support others currently holding a Graduate Assistantship, or pursuing a career, in Student Conduct.
Student members can add the Grad CoP to their profile in the members only section of the ASCA website. Future meeting dates are published in the Thursday Association Update email or on the ASCA Events calendar.

Mentorship and the ASCA Connections Program
The Connections Program is a networking opportunity designed to help members meet and form relationships with other professionals within the Association. Participants can engage in the Program as often as they would like and can create connections to meet their individualized needs such as:
- growing one's professional network,
- discussing skillsets to problem-solve various challenges in one's role,
- navigating a job search,
- seeking community,
- and more!
The purpose of the Connections Program is to provide an opportunity for professional networking within the Association. The Program provides an avenue for members to connect, encourages lasting relationships, and fosters professional growth. Graduate Student members are actively encouraged to participate and connect with a more seasoned ASCA member as a way to grow their network, engage in professional development, and have 1:1 mentorship.

Student Organization Misconduct Institute - APPLICATION NOW OPEN
The Goldstone ASCA Foundation is sponsoring 2 scholarships for ASCA members, including student members, to attend the Student Organization Misconduct Institute (SOMI). SOMI will beheld October 26-28, 2026 in Washington, DC. The Scholarship Application closes on September 4. Applications and detailed scholarship criteria are now available here.
Sexual Misconduct Institute - APPLICATION NOW OPEN
The Goldstone ASCA Foundation is sponsoring 2 scholarships for ASCA members, including student members, to attend the Sexual Misconduct Institute (SMI). Participants will receive a Certificate for successfully completing SMI participation for either Investigator - Level 1 or Decision Maker/Appeals - Level 1.
SMI will beheld November 11-13, 2026 in Washington, DC. The Scholarship Application closes on September 4. Applications and detailed scholarship criteria are now available here.
2027 Annual Conference
There will be two scholarships offered for the 2027 Annual Conference. Both scholarships cover full registration costs for ASCA member to attend the Annual Conference, including student members.

Scholarships cover full registration costs for ASCA member to attend SSCI, including student members. 2027 New England Conduct Officers Institute
The Goldstone ASCA Foundation offers scholarships for this event. There will be two scholarships offered for the 2027 New England Conduct Officers Institute (NECOI), held annually the first Wednesday in August. The 2027 NECOI will be held on Wednesday August 4.
Scholarships cover full registration costs for ASCA member to attend NECOI, including student members. Please check back or watch for announcements in the weekly Association Updates (Thursday email) as to when the scholarships open.

Association of Fraternity/Sorority Advisors
ASCA and the Association of Fraternity/Sorority Advisors (AFA) have partnered to make professional development more accessible across both fields. Professional members who join both associations can receive 10% off each Association’s membership dues through the AFA/ASCA Membership Bundle. Graduate students can also take advantage of AFA’s $50 Graduate membership rate, making it easier for emerging professionals to access AFA’s learning, networking, and professional development opportunities.
